This Charter uses several terms which are defined as follows:
In most cases, a simple verbal reminder will suffice as corrective action for a rules violation. More serious violations may result warning, suspension, or even removal from the guild depending on the severity of the violation.
If you are unsure whether a course of action is against the rules, it is best to err on the side of caution and not proceed. Contact a junior officer for clarification on the issue. Providing this kind of feedback alerts the leadership of opportunities for potential rule revisions.
Members or guests of Vae Victis will at all times honor the End User License Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Terms of Service, Rules of Conduct and other agreements associated with playing Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Members or guests will not use any Vae Victis communication channel to link or provide anyone with the means to acquire pirated or copyright material.
Members or guests of Vae Victis will not engage in or perpetuate unnecessary drama. The Contact form exists for anyone to report grievances to the Vae Victis leadership team. This communication channel exist to mitigate superfluous drama, and promote a more professional community environment.
Members recognize that Vae Victis has a zero tolerance policy regarding exploiting or discussing cheats, hacks or known exploits. Violation of this rule will result in an immediate and permanent ban from Vae Victis.
Members or guests of Vae Victis will not use discriminatory or bigoted language. This includes, but is not limited to, slurs or jokes about race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, weight, disorders, disabilities, gender identity, economic status, nationality, etc. Vae Victis embraces diversity as the foundation of its strength as a team. That being said, the discussion of these topics is allowed, as long as care is taken to respect the differences of others.
Vae Victis does not police it's members in matters of accused ganking, griefing, or harassment. Bioware has enabled players to reasonably opt out of these situations by using /ignore, spawning back at the medical center, changing the world zone instance, gathering friends for protection and retaliation, using /report to bring attention to exploiters, playing alt characters, choosing a PvE server, or logging out of the game to take a break.
That being said, Vae Victis' Charter clearly outlines the desire to maintain positive community standing. If a member's actions continually compromise this goal, Vae Victis leadership may step in to take action.
Members of Vae Victis are encouraged to resolve their differences privately with each other. If you are unsuccessful in resolving the issue on your own, the next step is to escalate your concerns using the Contact form. Discussing a conflict, or expressing dissatisfaction, with another member or guest in any Vae Victis communication channel is not allowed. See the No Drama rule for more information.
The use of any Vae Victis communication channel is explicitly restricted while playing as, or communicating to, the Imperial Faction on the Jung Ma server. The only exception to this rule are the Member Imp Room channels in Mumble.
Members or guests will exercise extreme caution in all Vae Victis communication channels when discussing potential spoilers.
Vae Victis strictly aligns itself with the Bioware Rules of Conduct regarding Naming Policy. Violators of this rule will be reported to Bioware customer support.
